Is there a cost involved to take part?
No. The sessions are free of charge.
How do I sign up to a session?
You will need to book online prior to the day at speedo.co.uk/dive-in. Once you’ve booked your session all you need to do is arrive at the pool you’ve booked in to with your swimming kit and have a great swim session! You will be welcomed by one of our representatives and they’ll take you through everything you need to know.
How often are the sessions at each event?
There are 4 60 minute sessions throughout the day. The timings may change slightly on certain days and at certain venues, but the first one will typically start at 10.30am You will book onto a specific session when you book online at speedo.co.uk/dive-in.
How many sessions are there?
There are approximately 50 sessions across England, Scotland and Wales throughout 2016. You can see the full list of locations at speedo.co.uk/dive-in
Can I register for more than one free swim session?
No, it is one session per person to enable as many people as possible to take part in a free session.
How long will I spend in the water during the session?
You will be in the water for around one hour, receiving professional guidance to help you get more out of swimming for fitness.
Do I need to bring anything with me on the day?
Just a towel, your swimwear and goggles. Speedo will provide a wide range of equipment for you to use during the session. Examples include pullbuoys, kickboards, paddles and fins. If you’d like to purchase any swimwear or goggles for your session, visit speedostore.co.uk
Is the session structured?
Yes, with qualified coaches on hand to help you.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Yes you will need to be able to swim a minimum of 25 meters basic front crawl.
Can I bring a friend?
You are welcome to bring a friend with you, but they must also register online at www.speedo.co.uk/dive-in before the day of the swim session.
What time should I arrive on the day?
Please arrive at your chosen session time having allowed enough time to change and get poolside.
Is there parking?
This will vary by location so please check with the pool you’re booked into.
Is photography allowed? What will the photographs be used for?
We will ask for participants’ consent to photography at the sessions. If photography is not allowed at your session we’ll make you aware of this on the day.
Is there a minimum/maximum age for the event?
You must be aged 18 or above to take part. There is no maximum age.
Are spectators allowed to watch the event?
Yes. Spectators are welcome to watch the sessions if the venue has viewing facilities.
What happens if I need to change/cancel my session time?
You can cancel your booking through a link in your booking confirmation email. Once you have cancelled, you will be able to book on to another event.
How do I keep swimming after the session?
We hope you’ll enjoy the session so much that you will want to keep swimming on a regular basis. The location of your event will share their swimming timetables with you.

Why would I want to attend one of these sessions?
The sessions will be sociable and fun and will help you learn how to get the most of swimming for fitness. Experts will be on hand to offer you tips and advice on swimming for fitness and how to use equipment and training aids.
What are the benefits of swimming for fitness?

Can I participate in the event if I have a medical condition?
It is your responsibility to let us know if you have any medical conditions or injuries that may preclude you from participating in an event and to disclose these medical conditions and injuries to us in advance of the session. If you are not sure whether your condition will prevent your participation, please speak to one of the coaches on the day to ask for guidance. However, please note the coaches are not trained medical professionals and their advice should not be mistaken for professional medical advice. If you have a serious medical condition or injury, please ask your GP before attending the event.
