Keri-anne Payne was born in Johannesburg, South Africa but competes as a British Swimmer. She is coached by Speedo Sponsored Coach Sean Kelly at Stockport Metro ITC in Greater Manchester.
At the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Keri-anne won the silver medal in the 10k marathon swim. As one of the most memorable events of the Beijing Olympics, the marathon swim led to an explosion of public interest and participation in open water swimming events worldwide. Keri-anne’s stature in this exciting new sport heightened when she was crowned world champion at the 2009 World Championships in Rome.
Her talents don't just stop in open water events. In the pool at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Keri-anne won a bronze medal in the 400m Individual Medley, confirming her status as a brilliant all round swimmer.
Out of the water, Keri-anne is studying a distance learning course at The London School of Journalism as part of a structured media training programme. With her glamorous image, Keri-anne looks destined to fulfill her long term aspirations in broadcasting.
Keri-anne became a Speedo sponsored athlete in 2010, to be the face of Speedo’s Open Water range and ambassador of Speedo's aqua fitness range
